Latvians regain winning FIVB World Tour form on Copacabana beach

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, September 6, 2015 - After early-season frustrations due mostly to an injury, Aleksandrs Samoilovs and Janis Smedins regained their winning ways on the FIVB World Tour by capturing the men’s gold medal match here Sunday morning at the US$150,000 Rio Open by defeating Markus Bockermann and Lars Fluggen of Germany in the All-European finale. In the women's competition, Talita Antunes and Larissa Franca validated their spot at the Rio Olympics by defeating newly-crowned FIVB world champions and compatriots Agatha Bednarczuk and Barbara Seixas 2-1 (32-30, 18-21, 15-12).

Lang Ping guides China to fourth World Cup title

Russia prevail over Turkey to claim gold at Men's U23; Italy finish third

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, August 31, 2015 - Russia claimed the 2015 Men's U23 World Championship trophy after they beat the struggling Turkish team 3-1 (26-24, 16-25, 25-18, 26-24) in the final of the competition held at Al Nasr Hall in Dubai, United Arab Emirates on Monday.
